Engineering Elegance

Engineering elegance is the concept of applied engineering excellence at scale. Computer Science was rooted in fundamentals of science and artistic levels of craftmanship. For years, the refinement of the fundamentals were honed as part of engineering excellence efforts. Now, best practices are more often popularity based without the appropriate context to deliver the results one might hope for. As the industry has expanded and evolved the approaches in one context may wildly differ from another.

In my 20+ years in tech I have worked across the tech stack building a sophisticated vantage point of the various aspects of the industry. Beyond my own first hand experience I have managed hundreds and mentored/coached thousands of engineers in countless roles.

I have dedicated my career to the intersection of where the hard parts of tech and humanity intersect. My specialty is upleveling, unsticking, and solving the impossible problems.

It is my believe that elegance of a system is the true test of the intelligence and excellence of the design and execution. Often the joke that computer science isn't all rainbows and unicorns...and to that I say, perhaps it is. A rainbow looks like magic when you don't understand light refraction and that red is seen at a 42 degree angle. Luckily knowing the math doesn't make it any less magical.
